Have Mr. Humphries or Ms. Boyarko ever heard the word "cannibalization"? Are they ignorant to the fact that entertainment dollars, that would otherwise be spent at locally owned businesses, will soon be siphoned off to a big, out of state corporation? Penn National's corporate offices are in Wyomissing, Pennysylvania! That's where the "good paying" casino jobs are. I thought the chamber of commerce's purpose was to promote local businesses.

Does everyone know that the tax rate on racinos is 33 percent of revenue? Rather than the 6 to 7 local sales tax on purchases, FIVE times that, of local spending, will be sent to the state lottery commission, to be spread per capita around the state!

We have been sold a pig in a poke, the valley as a whole will continue to decline, and Penn National will laugh all the way to the Wyomissing bank.

Exactly, state approved gambling is perfectly legal. I couldn't think of a better way to create more sadness, sorrow and pain to an area that has more than its own share. Reap those tax rewards Ohio while your residents suffer in your shame.
