MECCA — The Bristol Panthers have bragging rights for another basketball season, and they have an oar as proof. Sound a bit strange? There’s a good explanation....

Facts are facts and it doesn't take a lot of time to look at records. NAC is weak and has been for several years. Probably could be considered weakest in the state. Bristol rises in AP yet continues to fall in maxpreps rankings this IS because of weak schedule.

This IS HS. Doesn't take long to research schedules. Start at bottom and move up slightly. Why hasn't Bristol gone 19-0 before. Either they haven't been as good or the competition isn't that good currently? Combination of both IMO. Oliver is a good player. I have also stated on here coach Giesy has toughest job in TC because he will be the 1st to tell you or anyone off the record of course that they had 3-5 games this year they MIGHT lose. He did a very good job keeping HS kids motivated when they themselves know they are playing garbage. It is hard to go undefeated regardless of competition. As for the WGH tourn. 4 of 13 temas have a chance. ANYONE will tell you that. The rest have NO CHANCE even if the top 4 don't show up to play.
thanks again for helping prove my point small school basketball is at an all time low and best of luck in the tourn. I never said Bristol, PV or Maplewood doesn't deserve credit just stating the teams they play stink.....ask ANYONE!

WOW! This is high school basketball. Not college or NBA. These high school kids & their fans/communities are having a blast. areyouserious...get a life. you have an awful lot of time on your hands to sit around and break down everybody's schedules. I am a Bristol fan & am proud of it. There is no shame in our schedule. It has been a schedule that has been played for years & 19-0 hasn't happened in over 40 years for Bristol. I am enjoying the fun & success of these boys. It is something they can look back on for years to come. Nobody here is claiming to be Michael Jordan or Larry Bird. But I will say Chad Oliver is an extremely good player. He is a joy to watch. Along with the rest of his team. Give these boys and their coaches credit. I do know it is really hard to be undefeated no matter who you play. You say that high school basketball is the worst it has been in years. I say that the WGH tournament this year should turn out to be one of the best in years. I wish the
The NAC is definitely down this year, but to say non-league schedule was good, but fizzled.....not sure what "good" is anymore.........
Bristol non -league: JFK 4-13 Columbiana 3-14 Champion 2-15 Mineral Ridge 12-7 Garfield 5-11 Young Christian 7-8 Geneva 1-16 Newbury 1-12 Jackson Milton 2-14
(37-110) .251% when did they fizzle again, or better ? when were they good?
PV non -league:
Conneaut 4-11 Champion 2-15 Lakeview 4-15 JFK 4-13 Hubbard 3-16 Girard 12-5 Geneva 1-16
(30-91) .247% see previous ?
Lakeview 4-15 Girard 12-5 Brookfield 13-4 JFK 4-13 Young Christian 7-8 Champion 2-15 Grand River Academy ???????
(42-60).411% (plus GRA record)
Looks like Maplewood played best non-league schedule, but lost all 4 games to PV and Bristol.
Taking nothing away from all 3 teams they are OK,but as I stated many times on here small school basketball in this area is at an all time low. Records AND PLAY speak for themselves
Bristol is a very good team. They and Pymatuning Valley, leader of the other division will be hurt in tournaments because of a weak league. Their non-league schedules were good but most teams on it fizzled also.
