From what I read, it was the parents of the victim who wanted the trial closed to the public. If that is their wish, it has to be reviewed by the judge. With all these people holding rallies and using the social media thinking some cover up is going on, the judicial system is being pressured at this point to hold a public trial. What exactly is the point of these rallies then? All that will do is possibly humiliate the victim more. Is that what these crowds of people want?

Yes rape is rape. Those responsible should be brought to justice. But unless the police have something to charge someone with, they can not arrest people on no evidence and heresey. Look up JUST CAUSE and DUE PROCESS. When the two who have been accused and the victim meet in court, questions will be asked them. More might come out and more just might be charged. People are jumping to conclusions here and demanding action that our Constitution prohibit.

It is obvious those charged with the crime have already been found guilty by public opinion. I was once told that "there are two sides to every story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle". Hopefully, the justice system will find the truth and appropriate legal remedy will follow.

To understand, I believe, WP's constant calling for an open trial, including releasing the name of the victim, releasing all the accusations that the defense atty's will levy against the victim, including that she was a willing participant, she was promiscuous, etc, let's go back to the story of the Central Park jogger. All newspapers in NYC kept her identity concealed except one. Understand which newspaper gave her identity and released the defense attys' accusations against her, and you will understand WP's motivation.

Proud u tard.. They may be in juvenile custody till they are 21maybe. There is nothing going to be said about a coverup. The will cut a deal with all involved.

Rape is Rape! The coverup that was going on in Stupidville will come to the front during the open trial. My sympathies are with the victim and her family. The two Big Red athletes need to spend a goodly time in juvenile jail for what they did. Those who helped coverup or held these rape parties in their homes should be charged as well for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and supplying liquor.

Due process is the reason this is a slow, but legal process. These 1500 or so people do not seem to understand that. The police can not arrest people without JUST CAUSE. If the victim or the others at this party can legallly implicate any other person at that party, then I would think they would have been charged. If, as this court hearing progresses, the court or police finds other people responsible, they will be charged also. Too many people today want media justice and it just doesn't work that quickly in real life.
