Vindy reports that he left a note apologizing for the things he’s done. So he did it and the victims are telling the truth.

Liemonger- nah.... what are you 12?

Go to church on Sunday and support the child molesters. You probably are one too.

Nah, libtard bots like you do everything despicable.

Mostly with ZERO thought.

liemonger- If molestation was a big deal to the catholic corporation they would actually punish their own.

I hope the victims all over the world sue for every last dime and finally put them out of business.

These so-called “holy” people do the most despicable things to the most innocent and helpless among us.

I don’t know why anyone gives the church a penny when they are responsible for the cover-up of the systematic rape and molestation of children.

This “Christian” committed suicid; an unforgivable sin among his many sins.

Timmy Ryan's campaign manager was arrested for trying to have sex with a 15 year old boy.

Not only should the church be held responsible, school officials should also be investigated I would be willing to bet they knew what was going on!!

This changes nothing. It's still crucial that victims, witnesses, and whistleblowers come forward so complicit church officials can be exposed and held responsible, and so future cover ups will be deterred.

Maybe, if the church officials would have done the right thing by putting Baker in a secure treatment center as soon as they first knew about his sexually abusing children, this might not have happened.

We feel sad for his family. and we hope victims will take comfort in the fact that Brother Baker can no longer harm innocent kids.

mscurious...i agree with your whole comment. except i now doubt he killed himself, alittle bit.

when it firstcame out he was dead, posted here he off'd himself. i figured he took to many pills on purpose, maybe drank some chemicals, or just shot himself.....but stabbing himself to death? i mean, if he would have cut his wrist i would understand that as well.

stabbing himself to death is hard for my brain to register i suppose. i never heard of soemone stabbing themselves to death, though i am sure it has happened a couple times.

To anyone who thinks that what this man did was about sex, think again..its about control, intimidation, power over the young men to make or break their futures..and it is about more than victimizing high school boys; it's also the impact it has on their families, their relationships and their ability to cope with such an awful knowledge of feeling alone. Thank God for those who went public..It IS NOT about the money..and it is terrible that this man chose the easy way out rather than let his victims have some resolution in court or in public. Some of you should think before you speak...the most prolific of predators are married men..churches just get the most news because of the contrast of teachings vs. behavior.

Allowing priests to get married will not stop this. It would only stop the priests that leave to get married.

These priests WANT boys. They are homosexual and cannot come to terms with it. Many probably thought that becoming a priest would "cure" them of their feelings, and we know how well that worked out.

"The Rite Of Sodomy" and "Goodbye Good Men" are two books about this subject. I read them years ago when this problem was in the news every day.

I doubt if the 14 year old boys you know could have knocked out a 400 pound man.

I could argue that what JFK did is no different than what Penn State did in covering up what was done there. Will anything be done to them? Someone also posed the question to me that these victims were between the ages of 14 and 17 and athletes as well. How many teenage football players do you know would allow themselves to be victims of sexual assault? The few I know would knock someone out if they even tried. What does everyone think of that argument? Again I will say, there is no winner either way.

Now it looks like JFK dodged the bullet. If this would have gone to trial they would have suffered much more negative publicity.I hope they have learned something thru all of this and instead of letting these perverts just go away to another school they address the problem as soon as it's brought to their attention. I'm not just referring to their priest but even their non catholic teachers. They have been aware of other problems and I imagine since this story broke they have been worrying what else will come to light.

Judy Jones, the mid-west assistant director of people abused by priests." The problem is larger than we really know if there are directors, asst. directors, regional chapters,of an entire national organization that has as its only purpose to help those abused by priests!I was raised catholic, and still admire what the church did for me in my youth.I experienced no behavior like this, and it breaks my heart to see that it is so wide spread.Perhaps the Catholic church should re-consider recruiting young men who say they want to be celibate for life.It is un-natural.

It's official, he took his own life. So, what happens now with all of the victims? Is the church liable for Baker's actions going forward? Seams like a dismal situation for all of his victims .........

He didn't want to face the same humiliation and embarassment he inflicted on others.

True to form he took the cowards way out. And he diidn't do it to save his victims further pain and anguish. He didn't do it to save his church/religion more scorn and ridicule.

He took the cowards way out to avoid accepting his responsibility and consequences for the harm and damage he inflicted on those young boys.

And he probably didn't find the prospects of bunking with Big Ugly Bubba and being his cell b.i.t.c.h.for the next few decades very appealing either.

So very sad. There are no winners in a case like this. Prayers go out for the victims. No amount of money given will fix the emotional damage they are dealing with.
