Incandescent Bulbs are being eliminated because Obama appointed GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt, The Head Of Obama’s Jobs Council, instead of creating jobs IN USA he Is Moving Jobs And Economic Infrastructure To China At A Blistering Pace

Buy your incondesent bulbs now because they will be outlawed by 2014 because of Obama and Jeff Immelt. Thousands of jobs will be lost

Fethersome let me take you by the hand and walk you through this real slow. I will give an example: If all diners in Warren see that they are losing customer's do you think they will say "hey lets just pay people more and we will get more customers because they will spread that money around"? Is that how you understand business?

You have zero idea of what you are talking about. TRUST ME

General Electric at one time was one of the most respected American Companies. The Engineers helped develop the Atomic Bomb for heavens sake..these were the best Engineers in the world with amazing research centers. At one time 600 engineers and skilled workers at Cleveland Equipment Works designed and built the equipment that was made to make lamps for 100 years. They designed machines to make Lamps at a rate of over 12,000 per hour. Does any thing you own last 100 years? They were able to. Not only did they design amazing ingenious machines they developed our modern technology..Led's in 1962! GE did get lazy in pursuing energy efficiency because the cost of incandescent lamps were so cheap. GE made a fortune and started buying up everything they could. Here is the problem..Now we can go to China and they will make the Led's for penny's on the dollar. We need to regain our advantage and stop giving our technology away if we want to regain our Superiority! Or is that the plan...

In great news however, General Electric has announced that they will be returning a large part of their appliance buisness to the Louisville,Ky. Appliance factory. These large appliances, dishwashers, washers and dryers, refrigerators, etc. will be brought back from China where they are currently manufactured.

The loss of these folks jobs is certainly tragic, but in reality not unforseen. The incandescent light bulbs that they manufacture have been replaced by another technology. In all honesty would any company put new technology, that is expected to last for many years, into a 137 year old multi floor building? Of course not. Could they have built a new manufacturing plant in Trumbull or Mahoning counties? Yes, of course they could have, but I suspect they chose to place that factory where they could maximize their profit. Lower prices, higher profits, and lost jobs and tax revenue are the end result of the corporations who swear alligance to no nation.

hEYFEATHERSTONE: Regarding GE job loss nationwide, you should ask Obama because the GE CEO is Obama's Head of the Council on Jobs.

You can’t save hundreds of dollars in energy costs if you don’t have a job to pay your bills.

Marmel after u empty Usbluesy 's bedpan, look to see where it was made. And I didn't say More $ is the answer. WTF are you babbling about? Decent wages create a strong middle class in turn circulates money in economy AND generates larger tax base. Which would benefit your rich republican heroes too. I have a lot to learn, yes I do. But I can see reality, can you??

Didn't mention unions Marmel, I don't know much but I know what I've experienced and when corporations grab cash and fail to reinvest into a company TO STAY COMPETITIVE AND EFFICIENT wouldn't you say its the upper ups that are largely to blame? Why couldn't GE plant mentioned produce the new efficient bulbs? (Even if they do s u c k!). Because ge will move production to a 3rd world country and exploit their people for cheap labor. Happens time after time.

Pauleydel please tell me that your brain is bigger than marmel's. First off the tax "holiday" expired. Whether Romney was elected or not, the 2% reduction in social security tax was set to expire in 2013. Simple as that. Read more before posting your conclusions.

Too bad our leaders can't offer lower tax and utility incentives to KEEP businesses here to modernize and re-tool or is it only offered to NEW businesses? It wasn't that long ago that there were long lines during rush hour from employees leaving Ohio Lamp and Packard.Forget your politics, someone has been asleep at the wheel. These are good-paying jobs that funneled dollars to many area businesses and supported families. Why do we bicker amongst one another while yet another factory becomes a vacant eyesore in our landscape only to remind us of how great we once were?

WE are stuck with four more years becasue of the stupidity of voters. the middle class and lowe class was not supposed to be taxed. Happy New Year with a 2% income tax all thanks to the liar and chief. I don't like that GE is leaving and some buildings are to ld to redo. Remember we lost Halsey Taylor some years ago. I used to see Warren, Ohio stamped on the drain cover but not so much anymore.

Feathersome you know nothing. You repeat union and left wing talking points about corporate greed and mismanagement. Some things lose relevance, competition, changing demographics, taxes, regulations all play a part. I love how the ones that have never done it know how to do it the best. You being sold a pile of BS and you buy it time and again.

I will agree that mismanagement plays a role. Especially when it comes to granting unions to much resulting in costs that can't be controlled. You have alot to learn.

Feather some. You can't possibly be that stupid. To just claim that businesses should pay people more. What do you think will happen to price when cost goes up? It goes up with it. Then people look for and buy cheaper stuff, company than goes out of business.
