It is extremely rare that a child predator has only one or two victims. some have many. Hopefully anyone who has knowledge or may have been harmed by Brother Stephen Baker, will have the courage to come forward and contact the "police", not the church officials. They are not the proper officials to be investigating child sex crimes..

Also keep in mind your silence only hurts, and by speaking up there is a chance for healing, exposing the truth, and therefore protecting others.

At a party, the predator isn't some oddball sitting alone in a corner because others feel uncomfortable with him. Most often, the predator is the guy throwing the party.

We must overcome the dangerous myth that because someone is successful or warm or caring, he or she couldn't have done that! Also, we must stop thinking that because a man is old, that somehow he's automatically safe. It's just irresponsible to endanger kids by assuming an adult is harmless simply because he or she may be losing hair, wearing glasses, using hearing aids or walking with a cane. These can be signs of advancing age, but they are not signs that an individual is safe around kids.

These brave victims are to be commended for speaking up and taking action to expose the truth. This is not an easy thing to do but there is something to keep in mind:

Child predators are very cunning and manipulative. They know every trick on how to groom, threaten, lie, and put the fear of god into their victims and sometimes even their family members. They also appear to do a lot of good things, they can be very charismatic and you may think they would never harm a child. They have to be this way, in order to not get caught and to continue to abuse

Sexual predators are often powerful and well-loved. It would be comforting if those who preyed on the vulnerable were obvious social misfits whose appearance would somehow set off alarm bells and give us the willies or the creeps. They rarely do. Usually, predators are among the last people we would suspect of sexually violating others.

Coincidentally, this Boston based Attorney is handling everyone's case. 33.5% from every person is a nice payday. Neversummer, you're right, cash motivated... not Justice motivated. During this period of time, noone had a problem exposing the Warren Music Center pedophile but yet noone speaks up about this . Child molestation is in my opinion, the most heinous thing on the planet. So to not speak up right then and there baffles me a bit. This was a High School of supposed higher education. Are we just trying to outdo Steubenville here in tje National Spotlight

It baffles me how people stay silent for 25 years. It would seem filing the charge, facing it head on,& getting results..would help one heal & recover. Perhaps that's not true. How could parents not know? Help me understand. Hate to see young/older men scarred because of the actions of this guy.

americanpatriot, what would getting married do for a man that wants boys? All priests are surrounded by women. If they want one they can get one. If this brother wanted a woman he would have went after the female students.

It's funny how they remember now, like after others are getting cash settlements.

It's not like the other dozens of priest molestation cases in the past 30 years might have jarred someones memory a bit.

It's the cash.

Way to go Catholic Church. Just keep moving him around that will make him go away. Ill bet you the higher ups in the church just move these pedifiles around because they are guilty of the same crimes. The statute of limitations law should not apply when it comes to a crime like this. The church needs to allow priests get married.
