How does that make good catholic people feel after giving money to Catholic Church only to have it payed out as a settlement ? Yea, we the Church will take your money, some of which will be HUSH money to cover our primitive practices. Nice.

Funny how eleven get a settlement and five more jump out of the wood work. i say if the charges weren't made in a reasonable time frame sorry about your luck. This has lies and greed for money all over it.

I see we are down to "10" comments---Yesterday there were 60 plus -- My point is -- where did the need for information among the public go??? This will pass with in the next couple days, the "Bro" will enjoy his piece --- OOPPS -- I mean "Peace" and quiet. The "athletes" (LOL) will enjoy the cash--(Just put your "athletic" bottom in a 911 & all of a sudden "ALL IS WELL" ---END of story --"mark my words" -- I understand the "Bro" said "Injuries start in the groin" Butt, I bet the "pain & suffering ends "in the back pocket"

Let's hope that anyone who has been harmed by Baker or anyone in this diocese, will speak up and contact law enforcement no matter how long ago the abuse happened.

It's time for the children in the Youngstown area to be protected, instead of protecting those who sexually abuse them.

For information about our monthly SNAP Support meetings in Youngstown, please contact our Youngstown Area SNAP Leader - Jerry Arnal, ph- 330-718-6226; jerryarnal@yahoo**** Victims and supporters are welcome to attend these confidential self help group support meetings.

NoMoreCrap said: "It's almost like the Catholic Church breeds pedophiles."

USBlues Response: "And the inner city breeds criminals! "

This shows that Blues still defends these people and doesn't think that pedophiles that molest kids are criminals.

The KKK is alive and well in Warren OH. The same posters always spouting off racist garbage about "all black people" whenever there is a story about a black criminal in the Trib are the same ones saying that all priests are pedophiles, the Catholic church is evil, and apparently the statute of limitations applies to this man for the sole reason of his being Catholic.

Please let me know when the next KKK rally is, I'm sure I'll see you there.

There is a differnce between touching someones backside and mollestation. I knew bro steve for many years. He did engage in similar touching and massaging with athletes but he never crossed the line.In my eyes he was a intelligent, generous man who cared very much for the well being of young men. It is very sad to hear this news.

It appears that "money talks" and the "victims walk" and it works well for everyone involved. I guess that's what wealth and power can do for you and your institution ........

The Catholic church is the largest and most powerful "business" in the world! That's why these abuses continue without the perpetrator's being brought to justice - not to mention a better screening process to keep pedophiles out. Oh sure the nay-sayers are going to come back with all the contributions their church makes to help people, but so does the mafia. They take care of their own........

This is how such heinous crimes are handled? Reaching a settlement out of court and going back to business as usual? No admission of wrongdoing? No punishment for the vile offender? If so, that is an invitation for more predatory sex offenders to prey on children and youth. Why is this character not in prison? Good thing hades has no statute of limitations.
