I remember back in the day when we always checked on our neighbors. The neighborhood was like a little family. Sometimes we annoyed each other but we always watched out for each other. When Mr. Frank got really sick and was rushed to the hospital, my mother went over and got his kids off the bus and brought them to our house for a few days. No one ever had to worry. We a knew a neighbor had our backs.

I never understood the thing that happened in Liberty. Neighbors were calling the police to report the woman calling out for help. The police couldn't see her because she was on the porch. Yet nobody went to the porch to see what was going on. I have always watched out for the elderly in my neighborhood. They have patterns in their behavior. If you don't notice something changed, your are setting yourself up to be victim sooner or later. Thieves and thugs depend on neighbors that don't watch each other.

These are excellent examples of good things happening in our County! Thanks to those involved. I hope other communities start like programs
