Harlan, good luck to you sir. I wish you would have been a little more specific with the issues and type of work. If you want to work in retail it isn't your employer as much as your employers customers. People are ignorant. Many will not go were they have to deal with somebody with a speech impediment. So before blaming your former employers or perspective employers, blame society for their (its) ignorance. I guess you have to look at it from another perspective. Maybe the employers.

After thinking about this today. Mr. Harnar. I speak from experiance. I do KNOW exactly what you are up against. You have to work twice as hard as a "normal" person to prove you can do the job. I work in public service, I deal with customers every day. I overcame my speech issues by proving I can work twice as good as anyone else. I do a lot of public speaking, even with a speech impedement. I am not handicapped. I am challenged. Accept that challenge, embrace it. Push twice as hard. You can over come it. AND, in end, you will feel like a new person. You will beat the odds, it is a great feeling. Good Luck.

Hang in there young man. Don't be discouraged . It's just a bad economy for everyone.Just keep pestering people and then when they hire you ,show them what a good worker you are. But you have to be persistant.

Mr. Harnar. You are NOT handicapped. You can do anything any " normal " person can. It is not up the any employeer to hire you because of a speech impedement, it is up to YOU to prove to them you are the person for the job, the best person. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, Your speech impedement will only hold you back if YOU, let it hold you back.

Sounds like you want to work and do good for yourself. Maybe retail is not for you. I wish you the best of luck!
