Boomers & Beyond, Spring 2009

From the editor

May 22, 2009

Remember the issue of Boomers & Beyond where we featured Andy Shinosky? He engraved these incredible knives. They are a true works of art. Well, it only makes sense that he has a friend that is just as creative. Meet John Hudak. John, who is also a tool and Die Maker, builds 3/4” scale locomotive engines. They are so cool. Lucky for me I get to meet guys like John and Andy and see their workshops and, even better, their “toys”. Rumor has it the market is starting to come around. That doesn’t begin to make up for the hit most Boomers took on their retirement money. In this issue, you will find answers to some of the common questions you may have about your Social Security benefits. We also have a story about planning for retirement, or rather re-planning. Do you travel? Boomers are noted for their love of traveling. Traditionally, Boomers have had the disposible income to feed that passion. Great prices for vacations are out there, and Boomers are finding them.
