Awards Honoring Women

CHESNIC Tribune Chronicle correspondent Noted American anthropologist and writer Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” A number of local women whom have made differences in their communities and beyond through their careers or humanitarian efforts were publicly recognized this year, receiving awards for their efforts and successes and proving that excellence knows no gender. Those women honored agreed they do not set out each day to receive recognition but to make a difference in their respected fields and neighborhoods. Regardless of their intentions, local organizations noticed the achievements of these Trumbull County women and believed they deserved public accolades, thus presented them with various awards throughout 2008.
