Taking one for her team
When you are the daughter of a baseball coach, some things are just bound to rub off on you. I always yell, “Kid” when cheering in the dugout. I have a strange, unhealthy obsession with sunflower seeds. And, like any baseball player to ever walk the planet, superstition runs my life. When I play softball (yes, I still play), I always wear plain, white high socks with my T-shirt with the sleeves cut off. It’s a must. I never wear my spikes to the field. And I always put the left one on first. Even watching sports, I have my superstitious tendencies. I have one Indians jersey that is undefeated. No one will ever catch me at Jacobs, I mean Progressive, Field without it. Along with superstition, I also have become a very strong believer in “juju.” Juju (for all you non-Grey’s Anatomy watchers) is just spreading good aura. But sometimes, juju wears out.
