JCC?to offer summer camp
YOUNGSTOWN — Whether its learning to play a musical instrument, hit a tennis ball or use a camera, the Jewish Community Center is offering a variety of summer camp activities for children through mid-August. The camp is for children in first to eighth grades. Joie Mozena, director of the summer camp, said, “There is a different theme each week with different activities planned around that theme. One week we had ‘Music Around the World,’ with events on the different music from different countries.’’ Every week, there are music activities, sports and recreation, Israel culture programs and arts and crafts, she said. Qualified staff are the instructors, Mozena said. Specific programs were offered based on surveys and what children liked from last year’s camps. Instructor Michelle Galazia of Edinburg, Pa., of MMG Photography, said, “It’s nice to hear from the students that they want to be a photographer like me. It’s fun for me to hear this.
