Will LeBron James really get a roller coaster named for him now that he’s coming back to Cleveland?
Ohio’s Cedar Point amusement park says to stay tuned.
Earlier this week, the park promised in a Twitter post to rename one of its 17 roller coasters “King James” if the four-time NBA MVP returned home to play for the Cavaliers.
Cedar Point says the decision is coming on which coaster it will rename.
The post had nearly 12,000 re-tweets and 6,000 favorites as of Saturday night.
James announced Friday that he is leaving Miami and returning to Cleveland, where he played his first seven seasons.
A Cedar Point spokesman says the idea for the roller coaster renaming began with the CEO.
“Over the past few days it has been fun to watch the excitement surrounding the potential and now realized, return of LeBron James to Cleveland,” said park spokesman Bryan Edwards in an email. “We stand ready to honor our original tweet. Congratulations Cleveland!”
The Sandusky amusement park says James was a frequent visitor during his time growing up in Akron and while he was playing in Cleveland.
