Amazon launches Amazon Fire Phone

June 19, 2014 - Chris Pugh
Amazon unveiled its Amazon Fire Phone Wednesday, which is an attempt to enter the crowded smartphone field.

Here are seven things I found interesting about the announcement.

--- If you like to buy products in the Amazon store, you'll like the Amazon Fire phone. The phone is designed to make it easier to navigate and buy items from the store through Firefly, which offers voice and object recognition technology

--- Phone buyers will receive a free year of Amazon Prime.

--- The phone offers free unlimited Cloud storage for pictures.

--- The phone has a 4.7 inch screen

--- You can take 3D pictures on the phone.

--- Amazon isn't offering price breaks as it did for Kindle tablets. The phones range from $199-$649. The $199 phone comes with 32 gb of memory,

--- Phone is available July 25 through AT&T, but pre-orders are available through Amazon.
