DMB plans return to Blossom, First Niagara
January 14, 2014 - Andy Gray
The Dave Matthews Band announced its summer tour schedule this morning with both Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls and First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pa., on the itinerary.
The tour plays Blossom on June 27 and First Niagara the following night. Unlike past years, there is only one show at First Niagara.
According to the press release, this year’s tour is billed as “A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band” with the group performing two sets each night spanning its career. The show will feature electric and acoustic sections, including a pairing of Matthews and long-time collaborator Tim Reynolds as an acoustic guitar duo.
Matthews is quoted in the release saying, "I was talking to Carter (Beauford) about how much I still like just sitting around playing music together. It's how we started - in the basements of Carter's and my mom's houses. Our shows are loose, but we started thinking that maybe this summer we should make them looser and bring some of that feeling to the stage. It seems like the opposite of a safe plan, so why not?"
Tickets for the two area dates will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 7. A presale for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association starts Jan. 16. Ticket prices were not included in today's announcement.
