Auction offers piece of RWB history
July 4, 2013 - Andy Gray
Red Wanting Blue is going to be traveling those magnificent miles in a new vehicle.
On Wednnesday the band announced that it was auctioning off the converted airport shuttle it has used to criss-cross the U.S. and Canada.
When I interviewed lead singer Scott Terry in April, he said the band was starting to look for a bigger vehicle that would accommodate more than just the five band members and a sound guy.
The vehicle, which can be seen in the “Where You Wanna Go” video and was glimpsed on national television when the band appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman” last July, has 408,000 miles on it and is on its second engine and transmission.
According to the post on the band’s website, it comes with all of the tchotchkes the band has decorated it with over the years (judging by the photos posted with the auction, the inside of the shuttle resembles the band’s knick knack-filled stage set).
There already is a bidder at the initial asking price of $5,555.55, and the auction on eBay Motors ends on July 10.
