Where to begin...

September 22, 2012 - Dana Sulonen
The third quarter began with the YSU defense being asleep for the first two drives, then ended with the Penguin secondary finally making a big play.

Out of the gates, the UNI offense wasn't touched, and quickly took a 28-21 lead in the third quarter. On the other hand, the YSU offense couldn't get anything going, until coach Eric Wolford made a huge play call.

On fourth and 3 at the UNI 43, he went for it. And not some run up the middle, but an out route to Will Shaw, who dodged one defender then took it to the house, for a 43-yard score, which tied the game at 28.

That play was the wakeup call the YSU defense needed. On the ensuing UNI drive, strong safety Jeremey Edward picked off a greedy Sawyer Killmorgen. Though YSU went three and out on the next drive, it was a huge stop.

Now the defense needs to do it in the fourth quarter. It's going to come down to the final minutes again.

End of third, tied at 28.
