Now raining yellow flags
September 22, 2012 - Dana Sulonen
At halftime, YSU is winning 21-14. But in reality, the UNI Panthers are beating themselves.
In the first half, the Panthers have amassed nine penalties for 80 yards. During one UNI series at the start of the quarter, the Panthers committed back-to-back false starts, setting them back for a third-and-impossible, which they didn't complete.
Then there was YSU's scoring drive, which ended with a 25-yard pass from Kurt Hess to Nate Adams. UNI committed two holding penalties, which only helped fuel the Penguins offense.
UNI managed to put up a score right before the half, and eased down the field doing so. But there were no penalties during that drive, which ended on a Sawyer Kollmorgen pass to David Johnson.
The locker room should be interesting at halftime for UNI. And if adjustments aren't made by the Panthers, it could be a long second half.
Score at the half, YSU, 21-14.
