All are signed

July 24, 2012 - Mike McLain
The Browns made certain that all of their rookies will be on the field Wednesday when they came to terms Tuesday on a four-year, $8.1 million contract with quarterback Brandon Weeden, according to multiple reports.

The contract is fully guaranteed through the first three years. The final year of the contract includes more than $900,000 of guaranteed money.

The Browns entered this week without having Weeden, the 22nd overall draft pick, and running back Trent Richardson, selected third overall, signed. Richardson signed a fully-guaranteed, four-year $20.4 million deal Monday.

Weeden is expected to replace Colt McCoy as the starter early in training camp. Coach Pat Shurmur said during the June minicamp that he'd like to have a starter in place as soon as possible, and nothing McCoy did during offseason workouts indicated that he's ready to retain the job.

Seneca Wallace and McCoy will likely contend for the backup spot. It's possible that McCoy will be gone before the start of the season.
