Praise for Boom

The second item on the link to the Cincinnati Bengals' website concerns Daniel "Boom" Herron, the former Warren G. Harding and Ohio State running back.

The Bengals took Herron in the sixth round of the NFL draft last month. I wrote at the time that the Bengals would be pleased with the selection. Herron has never been the flashiest back around, but he is a solid player. He might be among the most underrated players in the 2012 draft.

Former Bengals running back Pete Johnson, like Herron a former Ohio State star, feels that way, too. Johnson told Bengals.com editor Geoff Hobson that he guarantees Herron will be starting for the Bengals by time the team opens the 2012 season in September.
