Coming up lame

July 31, 2011 - Mike McLain
Browns receiver Joshua Cribbs developed a sore knee while going through one-on-one drills Sunday morning.

Cribbs remained on the field but sat out team drills. Coach Pat Shurmur downplayed the injury. It doesn't appear as if Cribbs will miss much time.

Receiver Carlton Mitchell left practice with a shoulder injury. The injury, coupled with Cribbs' injury and the calf injury suffered by Mohamed Massaquoi, is a blow to depth among the receivers.

Tight end Ben Watson was out with a concussion suffered a day earlier. His absence doesn't hurt as much because of the depth at tight end. Rookie Jordan Cameron and Alex Smith are on board. Evan Moore, who signed last week, can't practice because of legal paperwok involving the new CBA. His return will add to that depth.

Neither Cribbs not Mitchell were on the field for the afternoon walk-through.

Guard Eric Steinbach remains sidelined with a knee injury. He's not expectde to practice any time soon.
