| | Ranking the Best Picture nomineesFebruary 24, 2011 - Andy GrayThis is a rare year when I did not dislike at least one of the movies nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. It’s all the more surprising since this is the second year they’ve expanded the number of nominees to 10 features. All of the pictures up for the Academy’s top prize got at least a B from me when I reviewed them for the Tribune Chronicle. However, in today’s column, I indicated that “The King’s Speech” – the movie that is expected to win Best Picture on Sunday – was one of the nominees I liked least. Since a couple of people have asked, here’s how I would rank the 10 Best Picture picks: 1. “Black Swan” 2. “True Grit” 3. “The Social Network” 4. “Winter’s Bone” 5. “The Fighter” 6. “Inception” 7. ``127 Hours” 8. “The Kids Are Alright” 9. “The King’s Speech” 10. “Toy Story 3” Feel free to share your favorites in the comments section.
