The weather, some ice and a whistlepig

February 2, 2011 - Frank Robinson
So much for the big ice storm that was supposed to hit last night.

The weather often is so hyped it drives rational people into a panic. I witnessed that yesterday when I went to the grocery store and people were buying stuff like the end of the world were near.

All we got was a little ice, followed by some rain, and this morning it was 41 degrees.

Guess what? It's snowing again. It does that in Northeast Ohio in February ... and March... and ...

The good news is that the whistle pig from Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil, says we will have an early spring. He made his prediction this morning.

He's got just as good of a chance to get the weather prediction correct as the people who call themselves meteorologists. Science or groundhog? It's a tossup when it comes to predicting the weather around here.
