Get a free `anthem' by Gaslight

June 18, 2010 - Andy Gray

Every week iTunes offers a free single that can be downloaded, and this week’s choice shouldn’t be missed.

It’s the title track from “American Slang,” the new album by The Gaslight Anthem. The band’s last disc, “The ’59 Sound,” is one of my favorite records of the last couple years. It’s drenched in the influence of fellow Jersey native Bruce Springsteen but with an equally large measure of The Clash.

Gaslight Anthem stretches out some on “American Slang,” but the title track is an anthemic rocker representative of the band’s sound.

It’s available for free this week on iTunes. And the CD is on sale at some  retailers this week for $7.99.
