Wilco goes small for Pittsburgh date

January 5, 2010 - Andy Gray
The good news is that Wilco is coming to Pittsburgh.

It’s been about two years since the band played Cleveland or Pittsburgh, but dates announced this week include an April 11 show at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.

The bad news is fans that want tickets better not waste any time getting them.

The last time Wilco played Pittsburgh in 2007, it was at the A.J. Palumbo Center on the campus of Dusquesne Univeristy. Palumbo’s capacity is more than double Carnegie’s, and if the Palumbo show wasn’t sold out, it was mighty close.

Tickets are $38.50 and $35.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster outlets and by calling 800-745-3000.

However, click on the link for Wilco’s Web site and get information on a presale that starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 6). You just better not get better tickets than I do tomorrow.
