It’s a brand new year (now with a Rose Bowl win)
January 1, 2010 - Andy Gray
Welcome to 2010. It’s a new year, a time for new resolutions.
Mine is to make more frequently visits to this space to give others a reason to do the same. I have an excuse lately. Thanks to burning off vacation time, I’ve only been in the office three days in the last three weeks.
But the plan is to give something to look at, laugh at or think about every day – or at least every day I’m in front of a computer (and my family will tell you, that’s every day).
Let’s start the new year with a little music. I was going to post a link to U2’s “New Year’s Day,” but that’s too obvious (even if it’s a great song).
Instead, let’s go old school. Click the link, listen to Otis Redding and Carla Thomas sing about their “New Year’s Resolutions” and make some of your own. I also wanted to post a link to The Bottle Rockets’ “Another Brand New Year,” but I couldn’t find it on YouTube – and it’s a little bleak for a new beginning.
8:20 p.m.: In honor of Ohio State's Rose Bowl win, here's another song. No, not "Hang on Sloopy" but appropriate nonetheless. Enjoy Elvis Costello singing "Good Year for the Roses"
