Covelli Centre getting another American Idol -- Chris Daughtry

August 18, 2009 - Andy Gray
Carrie Underwood played a sold out show at the Covelli Centre in 2008. Melinda Doolittle did a Christmas show there the same year. Tickets go on sale Saturday for an Oct. 17 concert by Kelly Clarkson, the first “American Idol” winner.

Now the venue is hosting another "Idol" contestant two weeks later. According to Pollstar magazine’s Web site, Chris Daughtry’s band – Daughtry – will play the Youngstown arena on Nov. 4. Theory of a Deadman and Cavo are listed as the opening acts.

According to Daughtry’s Web site, the Youngstown date is part of a 36-city headlining tour for the band. According to Ticketmaster, tickets are $39.50 and $29.50 and go on sale at noon Saturday through Ticketmaster.

Daughtry’s second CD, “Leave This Town,” debuted at number one on the Billboard album chart and has sold more than 500,000 copies in five weeks.
