Foreign interests take over US firms

DEAR EDITOR:

U.S. trade with China has been very bad the last nine years. President Trump is changing that.

The Chinese have demanded and obtained exclusive rights from U.S. companies for manufacturing and the secrets to manufacturing to do business in China.

Yet, the Chinese have come into this country and purchased one of the largest pork producers in the world, Smithfield of Virginia.

We have to start changing in this country.

We need to allow only 45 percent of U.S. companies to be owned by foreigners, to allow for the majority ownership by U.S. companies — the way it is in the rest of the world now.

The rest of the world allows only 45 percent ownership by U.S. business.

If we are not careful, we will be owned by a majority of foreign countries.
