Online retail is a local job killer

DEAR EDITOR: is a real job killer. It does not have the cost associated with the real brick and mortar store.

They do not have merchandise on display. There is no personal sales associate to deal with.

Shopping in a store you can walk out with your items and not have to wait three to seven business days.

The tax base is very small. Online businesses do not collect tax in many states. That has a savings of 7 percent for the consumer.

They are a real model of efficiency and cost cutting.

This lowers their costs and their profits are still sustained to the point major retailers are closing their doors.

Shopping online will add to unemployment substantially.

The downside to all this is that you, your neighbors and our future generation will be without jobs.
