More female leaders needed in politics

DEAR EDITOR:

Washington political life seems to relish turmoil. Unfortunately, this turmoil affects all of us in a very negative way.

We face so many problems in this country, yet there is very little effort to work together to solve them. We would rather point the finger of blame at each other.

It is not working. I believe there needs to be a change in our leadership across the country.

We are seeing more women speaking up and stepping forward. They are running for political office at the local, state and national levels. We are hearing more common-sense ideas from them.

I believe we can benefit from these women coming forward — a little less testosterone in the room could help us better deal with the problems we face.

I encourage women to step forward. We need you.
