Social Security hike not all you think

DEAR EDITOR:

The Social Security Administration made a big issue of the 2 percent increase that all Social Security recipients would get.

They even said the average person would receive approximately $20.

Well, lo and behold — I received $5 per month and the other $24 went into Medicare.

And I imagine I am not the only one to be cheated. My late husband and I worked very hard and thought Social Security would be enough to live on.

But now it’s just not enough to exist in these days.
