People are being price gouged

DEAR EDITOR:

We, as consumers, should start looking closer at the products we buy. We pay more for less.

Look at cereal; boxes are bigger, but there is less contents. Crackers are smaller and include a shorter count. Compare cookies to a year ago — again less.

Dollar stores used to be cheap, but now their costs are the same as bigger discount stores flooding communities, charging more but giving less.

Meats cost per pound? Again less.

It used to be you got what you paid for and now you pay for what you don’t get.

I had time on my hands so I went out visiting stores and just looking and pricing products. If you look closely enough, it will take your breath away.

Greed is the name of the game. People don’t care about each other anymore. The old saying is true: “It’s a dog-eat-dog world.”

You be the fire hydrant and they are the dog.
