Take two knees

DEAR EDITOR:

“Take down the statues! They make me fearful; Don’t sell raw cotton for decoration it reminds me of my ancestor’s slavery; The police are too militaristic; Stop others from voicing an opinion that is different from mine or supply me with a safe place to hide.”

There are so many in this country who are so fearful, why do they continue to live here?

People from South America braved riding on the roof of trains to escape from what they feared. But I guess if they were brave enough to ride “The Death Train,” they wouldn’t fear a statue or decorative cotton.

What to do? How about taking a knee? In fact, how about taking two knees every night to thank God you live in a country where the worst things in your life are statues, cotton and freedom of speech that frightens you into a safe room.
