Niles promise broken on swimming pool

DEAR EDITOR:

The City of Niles passes a park levy, and yet Niles still has no swimming pool for its citizens?

Citizens of Niles should remember the promise that came with the park levy that just needed to pass. City officials promised the pool would be up and running.

Now a citizens group had been formed to help save the pool, but every time the pool is brought up in council meetings, the mayor acts like it’s the first time he has heard about the grant money for use on repairing the pool.

Please explain why the big shots in Niles are so against repairing the pool? They will be able to find storage for those meters that were not used or installed elsewhere. They can’t use the money for anything else, and it isn’t being taken out of their pockets.

Niles really needs to get these useless council members out of office. They aren’t working for “us” when they can’t even offer a beautiful park with the money given to them.

Clean up this administration and get some new blood in these positions. Make the city worth living in.
