Write in Johnson for commissioner

DEAR EDITOR:

In an election cycle dictated by sound bites and memes, it can be hard to decipher perception from reality, fact from fiction and those who walk the walk from those who merely talk the talk.

Luckily, the constituents of Trumbull County have an opportunity to write in a candidate for Trumbull County commissioner.

The Rev. Todd A. Johnson talks the talk and walks the walk.

While some candidates talk about community involvement, Johnson serves the area as a board member with the Mahoning Valley Hope Center, is a member of the City of Warren Civil Service Commission and is the former vice president of the Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.

While some candidates talk about their dedication to youth, Johnson is the creator and presenter of H.Y.P.E., Helping Young People Excel, the founder of the Warren City-Wide Youth Choir, a member of the Core Pastors Group of Teen Straight Talk and the establisher of a scholarship fund that has distributed over $20,000 in awards to graduating high school seniors who are choir members.

The Rev. Todd A. Johnson’s dedication to the Mahoning Valley has earned him awards and commendations from various individuals and entities including the A. Philip Randolph Institute, the Trumbull County African-American Association, the Tribune Chronicle, the city of Warren, Mayor Doug Franklin, the city of Youngstown, Mayor John McNally and both the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives.

Nov. 8, choose a child advocate, choose a community activist, choose to “Change The Game;” choose to write-in Todd Johnson for Trumbull County commissioner.
