Research medical cannabis, vote

I am having difficulty delivering a simple message about the human endocannabinoid system and when there is a deficiency, how the body can be supplemented by the much-maligned cannabis plant. Would you please print this:

Ohio Rights Group: One plant, many uses.

Purpose: To secure legal access to prescribed medical cannabis for patients who may benefit from this herbal supplemental plant. Nature alone cures, and what Cannabis does is puts the patient in the best condition for NATURE to act upon him.

As patient advocates, we agree with the scientific studies and patient testimonies that provide evidence that cannabis has great value in treating many diseases and conditions.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s chief medical correspondent, has presented this information in his documentaries, ”Weed” and ”Weed 2: Cannabis Madness.”

Conditions that may benefit from the therapeutic use medicinal cannabis:

Babies, children and adults with epilepsy;

Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting;

Our military soldiers with PTSD, especially those contemplating suicide;

Head injuries and pain from football;

Multiple sclerosis, HIV / AIDS, glaucoma patients;

Nursing home patients, who like patients in Israel, may find cannabis provides them comfort in their senior years. Cannabis has been found to promote eating, sleeping, relaxing, neurological repair and the forgetting and forgiving of past emotional and mental traumas. Thus cannabis may provide a more dignified and peaceful conclusion to their lives.

Also, the industrial hemp plant needs relegalized so it may serve us as a renewable source of energy and provide us with many useful products: phytoremediation, paper products, textiles, molded plastics, body care products, construction, livestock feed, livestock bedding, nutritional supplements, essential oils, medicines and food.

If you are over 18 and a registered Ohio voter, I ask you to investigate, study and support this issue.

Volunteers from the Ohio Rights Group are providing a petition to bring this issue to the ballot box in November 2014. At least 4,000 signatures are needed from Trumbull County. Please help.
