Kudos to EPA for air regulation

DEAR EDITOR:

The more than 4,000 Trumbull County children fighting for air because of asthma do not need additional challenges. But carbon pollution increases smog, triggering asthma attacks, putting seniors with lung diseases in the hospital, and taking some of our loved ones from us too young.

Power plants are one of the largest sources of carbon pollution, responsible for nearly 40 percent of all carbon pollution in the nation. It makes no sense to allow them to emit an unlimited amount of pollution into the atmosphere.

The American Lung Association applauds the U.S. EPA’s courage in regulating carbon pollution from new coal-fired power plants. By implementing this rule, all of us will breathe a little easier.
