Trumbull County too lenient in drug cases
DEAR EDITOR:
Attorney General Mike DeWine has been in the news lately for his stand on heroin dealers and abusers.
Apparently, Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay and Prosecutor Dennis Watkins didn’t get the message.
This took place in Judge McKay’s courtroom this morning, Nov. 27, 2013. A defendant had pleaded guilty to three class 5 felonies of trafficking in heroin.
His Niles,Warren and Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office records are a matter of public domain. His Niles police record is more than 37 pages long.
Well, I was there to hear his sentence: five years probation with the usual stipulations, drug testing, etc.
Is the Trumbull County Court really serving the citizens of Trumbull County and Ohio? I think not.
