ACA still better than insurance

If an American citizen takes advantage of help from the U.S. government, such as the Affordable Care Act, the radical right actually compares it to modern slavery.

If the radical right uses the above as an example of “losing our freedoms,” then we have been slaves to capitalism or free enterprise in the health insurance industry for years.

Individual or group plans steer members to HMOs or PPOs that have a list of their doctors and providers that you are limited to seeing. MRIs, CAT scans, etc. need reviewed to be approved. Try to get a new medication on the market that works for you and your doctor, and the insurance company will fight you to take the generic “similar” medication.

The insurance industry clearly dictates your well being. I guess this form of dictatorship and socialism is OK for the right.

The ACA as of now is far from being ideal, but it is better than the insurance industry’s old motto of “deny, deny, till they all die.”
