Poem bemoans dark side of addiction
I wanted to submit this poem because I think it has a lot to do with problems Trumbull County and all over Ohio are going through.
Addiction tears families apart; it opens up a dark side in one’s own mind and clearly takes over the person’s mind, body, and soul.
Opiates or painkillers like oxycodeine and heroin make mothers and fathers cry because they witness their son or daughter going through a dark tide that neither parent really knows how to help.
Like a mother’s or father’s tear, drugs also cause the addict fear: the fear of quitting and facing reality again.
