There are many everyday heroes

Most people never think of themselves as heroes. They didn’t save a life or make millions of dollars, but they are heroes because of the small everyday ways they lead their lives. An example of this happened on March 6.

On that Wednesday I hurriedly made a stop at JCPenney’s before attending a meeting. I was wearing a pin with a red ribbon holding several other pins, and it must have become unlatched. To the average passerby it wouldn’t have meant a thing. It’s monetary value was minimal.

Someone saw that red ribbon, felt it must have special meaning to its bearer and made sure it was taken to the lost and found at Penney’s. He or she probably didn’t think it was heroic, but it was to me.

Thank you, JC Penney’s, and thank you, my hero or heroine!
