Federal employees earning good money for years miss one pay check and need food pantries? This is for all, including GM workers: Live within your means! Use self control. Before you buy huge homes and toys, build your savings. I have medical issues and am unable to work — waiting months for Social Security disability decision. I’m my family’s sole supporter. I earned not nearly what these people have. Yet, I paid my bills and had money for Christmas. That’s why you save for a rainy day.

Everything should be put on the table to fix health care costs in the U.S. I bet if you investigate the source of the people who say “Medicare-for-all would be mind-bogglingly expensive,” you would find it’s initiated by insurance or drug companies. To truly fix this system, everything should be on the table including one simple cash cost for each: drug, procedure, hospital charge, etc., along with employer costs and tax savings, per person, from insurance payments.

Let’s concentrate on Medicare coverage of medications of choice to U.S. citizens by letting Medicare govern the manufacturing of medications produced in the U.S. and profits reduced within reason. Stop the recession of the middle class, and Medicare can survive!

Watching State of the Union address, I kept close watch on reactions of career politicians representing their constituency. The eye rolls, scowling faces and total disengagement were apparent, embarrassing and partisan. I found it enlightening and evident that the Democratic party, as a whole, is embracing socialism concepts without any resistance — far from the oath of office they swore to uphold.

We are witnessing history. The Trump administration is going down as the most corrupt in the modern era. He still has his 35 percent of supporters standing with him. At least the rest of us have functioning brains and use them. Unfortunately, I cannot list all the scandals or the 8,000 documented lies as per Washington Post. Who would have thought a man who cheated on three wives and had five bankruptcies would have been such a terrible president? The answer: the majority of us.

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Howland, told “Roll Call” magazine he condemns U.S. Rep. Steve King, Republican of Iowa, for his White Nationalism comments. Yet he’s had no comment on Minnesota Democrat U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic rants that Israel should not exist, nor Michigan Democrat U.S. Rep. Rashida Harbi Tlaib, promoting boycotts, divesting in Israel. Is this not racism?
