Liberals running out of negative Trump portrayals

Liberals have wasted no opportunity to accuse President Donald Trump of wanting to deport hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in the “dreamer” category. They are people who came here as children; many know no other life than that in America.

One wonders what the president has to do — get down on his knees and beg congressional Democrats to agree to a law protecting the dreamers?

He already has offered a measure that would allow 1.8 million of the dreamers and members of their immediate families to stay in the United States. And, though he initially had said former President Barack Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals order, would be allowed to expire in April, Trump is softening even on that.

This week, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told reporters that once DACA expires, the dreamers will not be “a priority for deportation.”

Trump has asked only that a bill allowing the dreamers to stay be coupled with measures to improve immigration enforcement. Given what Kelly said this week, the president’s liberal accusers are running out of ways to portray him as the villain in this situation.
