Kurds deserve U.S. assistance

Leaders of the Kurdish people in Iraq, who have battled Islamic State terrorists more courageously and effectively than the Iraqi army, say they are in desperate need of money.

Without assistance, they may have to abandon their fight, the Kurds say.

That ought to be all U.S. leaders need to hear. Washington should assist the Kurds – immediately. They should be provided with enough financial help to maintain their battle against the terrorists.

Too often, U.S. officials seem to favor our enemies and slight our friends in the international community. That should not be allowed to happen with the Kurds.
