James D. Browning 1928-2019
VIENNA — James David Browning, 90, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019, at CHS of the Ridge in Mineral Ridge.
He was born September 3, 1928, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late James and Agnes Browning.
He was a 1946 graduate of Howland High School. He retired in 1987 from US Gypsum in Warren as a Departments Operator in the carpentry shop and annealing.
James was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Vienna, the Vienna VFW #3521 and the Quarter Master. He enjoyed golfing, helping organize the PONY League in Trumbull County and volunteering for Vienna Little League.
James served our country in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict, for which he received the Army Occupational Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia Browning, whom he married Nov. 29, 1952; three children, Beth (Jeff Spall) Browning of Brunswick, Ohio, Mary (Rocco) Nori of Niles and John Browning of Brooklyn, Ohio; two grandchildren, Thomas (Holly) Bradley and Amelia (Ryan) Perry; and three great-grandchildren, Madelyn Perry, Brycen Perry and Thomas Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James D. Browning; and a sister, Georgina Clark.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Queen of the Holy Rosary, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, Ohio 44473. A service will be at noon Monday at the church, with the Rev. Carlos Casvantes officiating. Burial will be in Vienna Township Cemetery in Vienna.
