LYNCHBURG, Va. — Carole Ann “Pixie” Prikryl Bauer Abell, 77, of Lynchburg, Va., previously of Warren, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, due to complications of Lewy Body Dementia.

Born Oct. 3, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Edward Prikryl and the late Henrietta Gottfried Prikryl, she was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Bauer.

Surviving are her children, Heidi Bauer Whatley (John) and Sean Bauer (Lynn); grandchildren, Michael Hannell, Jessica Hannell, Cara Hannell Norman (Michael) and Samantha Bauer. “Granny Pippy missed meeting her great-grandson, Connor Norman, by one week but we are steadfast in our faith that she was with us all on that day.” Carole is also survived by her sisters, Susan Weaver and Kristina Smith of Eastport, Maine; and a niece, Marie Heggarty of Mendocino, Calif. She also leaves behind many cousins, friends and co-workers that she loved dearly.

Carole spent most of her life in Warren and retired from Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Fairhaven School in Niles. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren and she took great pride in their accomplishments. Carole’s other love was the theater and she became an established actress and stage hand with Trumbull New Theatre in Niles. When Carole moved to Virginia in 2005, she carried her talents with her to the local theatres in Lynchburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or the Trumbull County Humane Society. Cremation has taken place. The family has planned a celebration of Carole’s life in Warren (mom’s favorite place in the world) for 2 p.m. April 20, at Lane Roberts-Clark Funeral Home, 180 Garfield Drive.
