John C. Nephew Sr. 1967-2018

MESA, Ariz. — John Charles Nephew Sr., 51, of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Warren, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, surrounded by loving family and friends.

John was born May 2, 1967, in Warren, the son of the late David S. Nephew Sr. and Josephine Crosetto Nephew. John lived with his wife and son in Mesa, Ariz., and courageously battled kidney cancer.

John graduated from Howland High School and Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design and a Bachelor of Arts in computer science and was president of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He also graduated University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in business administration in finance and statistics.

John was a consultant for cyber security and identity management. John enjoyed being a football and baseball youth coach and served as the president of the Phoenix American Youth Football for six years. He was a creative director of JC Triple Threat Productions and a social media director. John was a community organizer and was involved with the art community and performing arts. He taught at Al Collins College, Remington College and Education America.

John is survived by his loving wife, Tareita Lynn Nephew; and his son, John Charles “JC” Nephew II, who will greatly miss his unwavering support, wit and love.

John had seven siblings, Jodie (David) Flickinger of Columbia, S.C., Charmaine (Rodney Wills) Nephew of Cornelius, N.C., David (Susan) Nephew Jr. of Atlanta, the late Kate (David) Bridge of Cortland, Theresa (John) Dellick of Canfield, Bridget Nephew of Howland and Marlene (Jim) Pelyhes of Mentor; nieces and nephews, Erin, Katie, Aaron, Corrina, Leigh, June, Elizabeth, Mary Therese, Ann Louise, John and Julie; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Savannah, Abigail, Wade, Adam and Nora.

Services will be held in Mesa, Ariz.
