Phillip E. Linton 1955-2018

HOUSTON — Phillip Edward Linton, 62, of Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in Houston.

Phillip Edward Linton was born Dec. 10, 1955, in Warren, to Marion and Herbert Linton .

He graduated from Warren Western Reserve High School and from Bethany College in West Virginia. He married Marla Edlara on June 19, 2010, in Rockport, Texas.

He was a consummate sales professional, working in the banking and credit industries for the past 40 years. He was a lifelong fitness fanatic who loved running, the Eagles (the band), his beloved The Ohio State University Buckeyes football team and his bird, Picasso.

Phil is survived by his wife, Marla Linton; his stepdaughters, Chantal and Carolyn Moclair of Melbourne, Australia; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Skip Nance of Cortland; his nephew, Rich Nance of Indianapolis; his great-nephew and great-niece, Jackson and Keely Nance; his nephew, Chad (Jennifer) and his great-nephews, Logan and Owen, all of Parma; his niece, Kristen (Matthew) Frazier and his great-nephew, Weston Frazier, all of Colorado; and many other friends and family who lovingly called him “Uncle Phil.”

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Marion Linton, and his brother, Tom Linton.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Memorial Park in Houston. A reception in celebration of Phil’s life will immediately follow at the family home.

Memorials may be given to the United States Veterans Association, or a veteran’s charity of your choice, on behalf of Phil Linton, as this was one of his favorite charities to support our men and women in uniform, then and now.

The Linton family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to the EMTs and the ER doctors and nurses at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, who worked selflessly to revive Phil and prayed and honored him at his passing.
