Ronald D. Wonnacott 1954-2018
HOWLAND — Ronald Dean Wonnacott, 63, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018.
He was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Cleveland, to Orlo and Betty Geis Wonnacott.
He was an artist, calligrapher, monster movie fanatic and professional helper. His greatest joy and proudest achievement was his son, Ryan Dean, whom he raised with his best friend, Fran.
Ron was a master screen printer who loved making things with his hands. Whether rummaging at the flea market or sticking a found feather in his cap, he saw potential where others weren’t looking. He was a man of few words — until he wasn’t. He loved his family above all else. He passed peacefully at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, surrounded by his family. The family is comforted that he is currently hiking, cycling and “telling us all not to make such a fuss.”
Ron is survived by his best friend, Frances Jo Albergo Wonnacott; son, Ryan Wonnacott Sparks; and son-in-law, Kendal Sparks; brother, Robert Wonnacott; mother-in-law, Sadie Lombardo Albergo and brother-in-law, Joseph Albergo; nephews, Shane and Jason Wonnacott and their sons; and his grand-puppy, Nelson, whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
An open house celebration of his life will be noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at his favorite pizza joint, Sunrise Inn, 510 E Market St. in Warren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his honor to Broadway Cares, or the Howland High School Speech and Debate Team, by visiting rememberingronwonnacott.com, or in person on Sunday.
Arrangements were provided by Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society.
